(Video) Millwall fans strike Crystal Palace star Michael Olise with projectile during FA Cup clash

Crystal Palace star Michael Olise was struck on the head by a bottle during his side’s visit to Millwall this afternoon.

Considering Millwall vs Palace is a South London derby, and Millwall are Millwall, we expected tensions to flare in The Den.

Still, that’s no justification for some of the scenes which unfolded throughout the contest, with flares, and other projectiles, being thrown onto the field of play.

One of those was a bottle, which struck Palace match-winner Michael Olise on the head. Olise prepared to take a corner-kick when the bottle hit him – he didn’t appear too fazed…

This is in addition to Millwall supporters booing the Crystal Palace players as they took the knee before kick-off, while also being heard using homophobic language in a chant directed at Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher.

It’s for the best that they will go no further in the competition, because all due respect to the football club, their supporters are simply unable to behave themselves in a manner that is suitable for television pre-watershed.

We can only hope that the club are successful in identifying the troublemakers and issue them with suitable penalties…
