The former Offaly hurler Michael Duignan took to his twitter yesterday to defend the Offaly footballers who lost to Clare in a tight match at O’Connor Park.
People weren’t happy in the manner that the Faithful county lost the match, see his tweet below and some of the comments to go with it ..
Thanks lads for your comments. No one on here has ever been inside an inter county dressing room. You have no idea what these players do for their County. All of you should be very ashamed. https://t.co/P5ahS3uPYd

Wouldn’t it be worse if people didn’t care. Offaly have a proud footballing tradition. My first All Ireland saw them stop the kerry 4 in a row team. Ridiculing fans on Twitter isn’t very nice. Suck it up and get on with correcting the deficiencies
Well said Micheal I just had this same argument with some Kildare fair weather supporters. Unless you have been in a dressing room as a player or coach refrain from derogative I’ll inform statements. Great support as a chairperson well done Micheal
It was a savage battle by two hugely committed groups of players Michael. Big calls went for and against both, and in the end, Clare got the slice of luck that abandoned us in Mullingar two weeks ago. The trials and tribulations of sport.
If you’re going to get upset at social media comments and respond you’ll do nothing else all week. I don’t see anything abusive there or directed at any player.Don’t rise to the nasty comments Michael … your gonna get it on social media and especially on Twitter
