Nottingham Trent University applicant has offer withdrawn for racial abuse of England players

Nottingham Trent University have withdrawn an offer to a budding student after he was found to have used racist language towards Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho.

The fallout from the Euro 2020 final has been considerable, but unfortunately very few people are reflecting on what happened on the field of play, rather the crimes which were committed off of it.

At Wembley, we had reports of criminal damage from drunk and disorderly fans, with thousands of Three Lions supporters entering the stadium by force without a ticket.

In wake of the game, the discussion has been centred around racist abuse sent to England trio Rashford, Saka and Sancho, all of whom missed a penalty in the decisive shootout.

Unfortunately, it’s more of that which we’re discussing here, but in this case, the person involved has suffered the consequences for their contemptible actions.

Saka, Sancho and Rashford have been subjected to racial abuse online

Sky Sports quote Nottingham Trent University, who reveal they have withdrawn an offer to a prospective student as a result of racist language used in reference to the England players.

“This allegation does not involve an NTU student. We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, including racism.”

“We looked into this matter immediately and as a result have withdrawn an offer to an applicant.”

Hats off to you, Nottingham Trent Uni. The quicker that people realise that what they say and do online DOES count for something in the real world, the better.
