Neymar is now considering leaving Paris Saint-Germain before the end of the summer transfer window.
Neymar, whose move to PSG from Barcelona still stands as the most expensive of all time, and may well never be beaten, hasn’t quite kicked on in the manner he would have hoped at the Parc des Princes.
The Brazilian wanted to remove himself from the shadow of Lionel Messi in order to stand alone as the best player on the planet. Needless to say, he hasn’t quite managed that – and he’s now 30 years old.
There has been some suggestion in recent weeks that PSG would be open to the idea of selling Neymar at the right price, but the insistence has always been that the player himself has no intention of departing.
That appears to have now changed, with RMC Sport reporting that Neymar has become disgruntled following recent comments from the club’s president and is now considering leaving this summer.
The report notes that there are just three plausible destinations for Neymar, Manchester United, if they are to sell Cristiano Ronaldo, Chelsea, who are under new ownership, and cash-rich Newcastle United.
It remains to be seen if any of those three clubs are even interested in signing Neymar, but considering this situation is coming to a head so early in the summer transfer window, he may well move before the summer is done.
