The Dublin born fighter caught the attention of the shows director, who happens to be a huge UFC fan, and suggested the charismatic Irish man should feature in the series.
It is not known what role McGregor would play, or when he would appear but suggestions indicate that he will ‘appear in one of the remaining two seasons’.
It’s not the first time McGregor has been linked to life on the screen as Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg said he’d be interested in working with the UFC champion in the future.
McGregor is currently taking time away from MMA after he announced he is expecting his first child with long time partner Dee Devlin next year.
