Newcastle target two forwards as mega-rich owners desperately scrap to avoid relegation

Newcastle United have identified Anthony Martial and Edin Dzeko as ambitious January targets, according to a report published by The Sun.

The Magpies are in dire need of January reinforcements in order to assist them in their bid to remain in the Premier League. As things stand, they face an uphill task to avoid relegation down to the second-tier.

Those pulling the strings at St. James’ Park are understood to be prepared to take drastic measures in January to ensure they maintain their Premier League status, with two top forwards being targeted.

Dzeko only signed for Inter over the summer as a cut-price replacement for Romelu Lukaku, but he could soon be offered the opportunity to return to the Premier League and compete in a relegation scrap.

It remains to be seen if that will prove to be a remotely attractive proposition for either him or Martial, but as we’ve so often learnt in football, money talks…
