The Munster Rugby Squad are Still Stranded in South Africa

Munster are still to find a way to return back to Ireland as worries grow over the new Covid variant that has started and spreading in South Africa.

“Munster Rugby continue to work tirelessly on travel plans for getting the touring party back to Ireland as soon as possible,” the province said in an update this morning.

“Based in Loftus Park the touring group of 34 players and 14 staff are remaining within the hotel environment waiting on further developments.

Previously Munster were seen as an elite team and could continue to train, travel and play matches this time however health minister Stephen Donnelly says there would be no exceptions to the 10-day isolation condition.
