Munster took on the Sharks yesterday at Kings Stadium in Durban, the game went to a penalty shout-out rugby style and the purest of the game were hugely disappointed in the way the Sharks players and fans handled themselves as the Munster players were taking the kicks.

This is scummy from @SharksRugby players and fans. Where is the respect? Booing the kickers and now players lying down next to the kicker with cramp and winking at him… #SHAvMUN

From SA. Jadens actions didn’t represent what rugby values SA holds up. We as a nation are much better than that. We should build bridges, not burn. We apologize and know that sharing a league with you guys is so great for eachother. Munster can be proud. ’23 Champs for a reason
What a load of bollocks, I’ve never heard any booing from our fans, nor at Scotland games. There may be 1/2 somewhere in the stand, but a whole stadium, you are talking crap
Scummy is not a nice thing to say, and booing the kickers is pretty normal outside of Ireland, the winking is an ABOMINATION !!
Uncalled and not in the spirit of the game! Apologies to Munster!
Our apologies Munster, this is not why we support the Sharks. Don’t know why Hendriks behaved like that normally he comes across as a decent sort of fella. Maybe girlfriend ditched him the day before !!!
Reasonably talented scrum half, from a different culture…
And what about that Howley who cursed the medics???
I was disgusted with Hendrikse and his actions,an embarrassment
It was Jack Crowley not Howley and I would think he was justified to swear at the shark coaches because I think they were trying to condone Hendrick’s unsportsmanlike behavior. He did not swear at the medics
You obviously watched the Stormers Glascow warriors game with the sound off! The fans did nothing but boo the Stormers.
The Scots also booed every single decision that went against them and cheered every Stormer error. It would seem that generally there is a whole lot less class in rugby spectators in many parts of the world. Sad.
Yes but in a situation like this where it goes to a crapshoot, Rugby values are important. I remember going to Leicester as a Munster fan and Munster had a kick to win the game in the last minute and you could hear a pin drop. That is rugby etiquette and that is our tradition handed down through the generations. There will always be a few fans who disrespect this but it was pretty much the whole stadium last night. Disgraceful especially with the cramp crap
Sour grapes that what this is all about. The decision for Munste to kick for the post to level the scores was a BAD decision. They should have kicked for the sideline and try to possibly scor from there, but they were to scared as the Sharks pack was to rock solid for them. They missed one penalty so take the loss in good faith Munster. Its written in the book that Munster lost and to look for issue/reasons still will nobody give Munster the win. End of the day, the best team won!!!
I was at the game and did not boo. And neither did so many others. Unfortunately there is always a classless minority. As there is around the world
Geography lesson. Glasgow is in Scotland Munster is in Ireland. Therefore your comment has absolutely no relevance to this subject. Apart from being different entities as clubs regardless of what country they are in. This is on the Sharks not SA as a whole.
Very disappointed with the carry on before Crowley had to take his kick. When players behave like that they should suffer the consequences, it was obvious he did not have cramp and winking at Crowley surely proves that this was an act of unsportsmanlike behaviour. Fine or suspension is the only way to show that this is unacceptable in rugby. All the proof you need is to review the incident.
I think it is a tragedy to win or lose a game by a penalty shootout. Hendrikse’s actions actions are unsporting and a disgrace to all forms of SA Rugby. Should be banned is my opinion.
The game was played in good spirits. Very tight and close game and to go extra time proves that. Teams were equal. However, I must say, Sharks left a try or two out there. The penalty shootout has hardly ever featured in Rugby. There was one some years back. The boo-ing in the crowd sadly happens around the world in a lot of stadiums. That does not excuse the behaviour of some of the spectators at this game. On behalf of the Season Ticket Association and it’s members, appologies for the boos from some. Rugby should always be the winner. Brian High, Chairman, Sharks Season Ticket Association.
They were lucky they weren’t hijacked robed or even worse.. SA is a crazy place with our incompetent government.. lucky its to early to call genocide on Munster for now..
Over the history of rugby all sorts of tactics from all nations in many games has been used to win a game, teams and supporters, throwing a punch, throwing the ball away at penalties to name a couple from all teams. There has always been banter after words, was it a try or not, should it have been a penalty but it was left at that. Rugby has always been what happens on the field stay on the field. The annoying thing is over the last couple of decades rugby has become like football, ‘o, he bit my ear, o he called me a white c…, o he faked a cramp, o he winked it me, another one rollingbover when he was not even touched and then the media runs with it to create more animosity between teams and countries. Let’s just play rugby enjoy the the game and be adult players and supporters
