Former Munster rugby & Ireland player Tom Tierney has sadly passed away. The Limerick native also went into coaching after retiring, Tierney coached at AIL level with Garryowen and Cork Constitution before coaching the Ireland women’s team from 2014 until the 2017 World Cup.
Tom Tierney was only 46 years of age, just awful news this, we send our condolences to him family and friends at this difficult time. He will be remembered fondly in Munster, part of the new generation of Munster and Irish players that led on to the success that we are seeing nowadays on the pitch. Hopefully there will be a minutes silence for Tom Tierney tomorrow afternoon as Ireland get set to play Italy in Rome. May he rest in peace.
