Jose Mourinho is finished in the Premier League after being sacked by Tottenham, Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports yesterday evening.

Mourinho is one of the greatest managers in Premier League history, having won three titles across two stints in charge of Chelsea.

However, his recent achievements have been unremarkable, with ‘The Special One’ being sacked by Chelsea, Manchester United and now Tottenham.

It’s difficult to foresee where he goes from here, with his family settled in England, but his stock as low as it has ever been during his time on these shores.

Mourinho has now been sacked by three Premier League clubs.

You’d expect Mourinho to get back into the game as soon as possible, but Jamie Carragher thinks it unlikely that we’ll be seeing him in the Premier League again.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football programme, Carragher said:

“I don’t see Mourinho back in the Premier League, I think that ship’s sailed now. I struggle to think of any club – he’s been at Spurs, so he’s not going to Arsenal, he’s been at United so he’s not going to City, Liverpool wouldn’t have him.”

Like him or loathe him, there’s no denying that Mourinho is one of the most iconic figures in the history of the Premier League.

If this is the end for him in England, it’s a sad day.
