It goes from bad to worse for the Portuguese captain.
Morocco took yet another major scalp in this year’s World Cup when they knocked out Portugal in the quarter-finals last weekend. The African side was compact and like they’ve shown in every game bar one, this tournament, impenetrable.
Youseff En-Nesyri’s towering header right before half-time was the only goal of the game and what a goal it was. However, for Ronaldo, this goal did not only break hearts but also records.
The Moroccan striker jumped a jaw-dropping 2.78m into the air, breaking Ronaldo’s record of 2.5m against Sampdoria in 2019.

En-Nesyri will be hoping that he can replicate this stunning goal when they meet France in the quarter-final. The European side also has their own high-flying target man, Olivier Giroud headed home the winning goal against England to book their place in the final four.
Morocco is the first African side in history to reach the semi-finals of a World Cup, they will be hoping to extend that record and become the first side to win it.
Do you think that they have enough to get past the high-flying French?
