Achraf Hakimi reportedly shouted in the face of the FIFA president after his side’s loss to Croatia on Saturday evening.

Croatia edged out Morocco to finish third overall at this World Cup after a very entertaining game. Croatia took the lead in the seventh minute when young centre-back Josko Gvaridol leapt like a salmon and arrowed the ball into the Morocco net.

It took the African side only two minutes to respond, after a creative set piece of their own, the ball found its way past the Croatian goalkeeper thanks to Achraf Dari’s header.

Croatia would then go on to win it with one of the goals of the tournament just before half-time. Mislav Orisic’s curling effort found its way into the top corner from close to the sideline.

But like so many of the games so far, the losing side walked away feeling cheated by the officials. Hakimi especially vented his anger at the referee, Cesar Ramos, repeatedly throughout the game.

But the right-back didn’t stop once the final whistle was blown and made a b-line for the FIFA president.

The footage was captured of Hakimi confronting Infantino during the medal ceremony by SVT Sports reporter Johan Kucukaslan. The journalist has claimed that FIFA wanted him and other journalists to ‘delete the images’.

‘They wanted us to delete the images,

‘It is clear that these are embarrassing scenes for them, and it is a bit naive of them to think that a dozen journalists should not report on this when we witness it happening.’

Hakimi seemed to calm down after meeting up with his teammates after.
