Mikel Arteta may be FORCED to play new signing at the weekend

Mikel Arteta may be forced to play Jorginho at the weekend as there are concerns about Thomas Partey’s fitness.

Arsenal may not have recruited their top targets in the January transfer window but they were able to pivot and bring in capable experienced players instead.

When the deal for Mykhailo Mudryk fell through, Arsenal turned to Leandro Trossard and just hours after Brighton refused to sell Moises Caicedo, the Gunners announced the signing of Jorginho.

These players add strength and depth to the squad but Arteta may be forced to start the Italian midfielder against Everton on Saturday. Thomas Partey came off at halftime during Arsenal’s FA Cup game against Manchester City with a ‘rib injury’.

There have been no updates on the Ghanaian’s fitness as of yet but if he does miss the trip to Goodison, then Jorginho will be a more than capable replacement.

Sky Sports compared the two midfielders after the signing was announced and the result may surprise you.

At just £12 million, Jorginho brings a lot of experience and know-how to this Arsenal dressing room which will be invaluable the closer we get to May.
