Mike Tyson takes on Jake Paul on July 20th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

‘Iron Mike’ returns to the ring for the first time in nearly four years. His last outing being his exhibition bout with another boxing legend in Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.

And former world champion, Barry McGuigan isn’t happy about the return of the ‘former baddest man on the planet’.

Speaking to the Sun he said: “You can be sure money’s got something to do with it.

“The governing body should be seriously badly reprimanded for that — getting a 57-year-old guy in to box.

“That’s just really stupid and irresponsible.

“He shouldn’t be near a boxing ring at 57 years old.”

McGuigan was then asked if he’d ever come out of retirement to fight again.

“You must be joking, never. Its just very irresponsible. It’s very dangerous.”

He continued: “The problem with so many of these influencers boxing is that the general public think anybody can do it. They can’t.

“That’s what annoys the professional fighters about these influencers.”

Tyson appears to be taking it seriously. Having released a series of videos on social media showcasing some of his training.
