Mesut Ozil sends message to Arsenal ahead of their game against Newcastle

Former Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has sent his old club a message of good luck ahead of their clash with Newcastle United at the Emirates.

The 32-year-old posted the message to Twitter as he begins his new life in Turkey following his transfer from the North-London club to Fenerbahce.

Ozil moved to the Turkish club in the January transfer window after being exiled at Arsenal by manager Mikel Arteta who left him out of his Premier League squad.

Ozil’s contract was set to expire in the summer and Arsenal were desperate to get him off their wage bill after the World Cup winner signed a monster deal worth £350,000-a-week in Arsene Wenger’s final season.

Ozil moved to Arsenal in 2013 from Real Madrid for a then club record £42.5m and has gone on to make 254 appearances and scoring 44 goals.
