Mercedes CONFIRM intention for another appeal against Abu Dhabi Grand Prix result

Mercedes are not giving up in their efforts to have the result of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix overturned.

The Mercedes team have been left absolutely FURIOUS by the manner in which events unfolded at the tail end of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen having been gifted the race win and the World Championship by the stewards.

Verstappen was phenomenal throughout the course of the season and is a worthy world champion, but even Red Bull fans must have been left with a sour taste in their mouth by more utterly nonsensical officiating from the FIA.

Mercedes, as you could probably expect, lodged an appeal soon after the race has ended, but their arguments fell on deaf ears. The FIA decided to reject Toto Wolff’s appeal, but the Mercedes chief is not giving up just yet.

As is reported by Sky Sports, Mercedes have confirmed that they will be appealing once again and have until Thursday night to prepare their argument as to why the race result, and the World Championship winner, should be changed.

Whatever your view on the situation and whichever team you consider to be your own, it’s difficult to deny that wholesale changes are needed within the FIA in preparation for next season – because yesterday was a complete farce.
