Conor McGregor has shared a ‘new’ angle of his leg break against Dustin Poirier in a bid to prove that his leg was broken before it initially appeared.
McGregor has been out of the octagon ever since breaking his leg in his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier. It was the latest defeat in a disappointing run of outcomes for the Irishman.
The former two-weight world champion is on the comeback trail and is attempting to patch up his reputation ahead of his return to fighting action.
McGregor took to Twitter to share a new angle of the moment his leg broke. He claims that you can see the damage was already done as he laid on the floor…
Good angle. Can see the leg was broke before I even stood up. It was broke before the guillotine even. It’s why I went for it. 4 shots to zero here in this clip to close the fight before the injury. This fight was going my way 100%. But big congrats lads hahaha ye right. Rats. pic.twitter.com/Q7DkcKo4ar

McGregor has done everything in his power to discredit Poirier after the win and ensure that he is exempt from blame for the defeat he suffered on the night.
Ultimately, we will never know the truth.
McGregor DID have stress fractures heading into the bout, which has been confirmed, but just how much impact Poirier’s leg kicks and checks had is something we cannot know for sure.
