Mason Greenwood out on bail: Rape-accused Manchester United star released by police

Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has been released on bail, reports the Daily Mail.

Greenwood spent three days in custody after being arrested by police following allegations made by his girlfriend Harriet Robson via Instagram.

He was initially arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, which was extended to sexual assault and threats to kill.

Greenwood has now been released on bail pending further investigation into his alleged wrongdoing, as is reported by the Daily Mail and has today been confirmed by Greater Manchester Police.

Greenwood’s exact bail conditions are yet to have been made public.

He will not be allowed to train or play for Manchester United while the investigation is ongoing, with the club having confirmed that he is not welcome to do so until further notice.

Greenwood has also had his lucrative deal with Nike suspended, while EA Sports have decided to remove all traces of him from FIFA 22 offline game modes.

Following the allegations made against him, the 20-year-old has also been unfollowed by several of his Man United teammates on social media.
