Nike were successful in binning off Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood without him receiving a single penny, according to the Daily Mail.
With Greenwood having been accused of rape, assault, sexual assault and threats to kill, manufacturer Nike made the decision to part ways with the player, even with the police investigation not yet concluded and Greenwood out on bail.
Nike evidently decided to be proactive in washing their hands with him in order to protect their brand.

In doing so, according to the Daily Mail, they were able to completely cancel their sponsorship deal with Greenwood without him getting a single penny in compensation. It’s understood that it will cost the player ‘millions’.
Still, the report notes that Man United are paying his salary in full, so he won’t be struggling to put food on the table while he waits patiently at home for the outcome of Greater Manchester Police’s investigation into his alleged wrongdoing.
