Marseille fans began throwing projectiles at defender Alvaro during protests

Today seemed to be the straw that broke the camels back for Marseille fans as hundreds gathered together and stormed the Robert Louis-Dreyfus Centre training ground, See the videos HERE.

They gathered together in front of the gates and threw smoke bombs before lighting a tree on fire by the front gate. They then proceeded to break through the gate before setting off fireworks and bangers on the pitches.

Reports from L’Equipe now coming through that Marseille defender Alvaro Gonzalez travelled down to the training ground to calm the protesters and was hit with projectiles in the back.

The Spanish defender was backed by fans when racism accusations came his way from Neymar as the two clashed on the pitch but now they are not happy with him.

Marseille have lost four matches in a row and fans are unhappy as they want club president Jacques-Henri Eyraud to be fired. They finished bottom of their Champions League group winning one game and losing five.
