Marcus Rashford stated that he couldnāt understand why the referee didnāt give a foul after the striker was tripped up by Jules Kounde.
The Red Devils met Barcelona on Thursday night in a titanic clash usually reserved for the bright lights of the Champions League.
But although the game was played in a ālesserā competition it produced just as much quality entertainment as any Tuesday night game this year.
The two teams battled out a 2-2 draw with the result seeming fair after the back-and-forth nature of the game.
Rashford continued his incredible form by getting on the scoresheet but was annoyed with one of the refereeās decisions during the game.
The English forward found himself clean through on goal only to be fouled by Kounde just as he reached the box but the referee waved play on.
āItās a massive moment in the game,ā Rashford said.
āTo be honest, Iāve not watched it back, but in the moment, I donāt understand why the linesman or the referee thinks why Iām going down there.
āIāve touched it, went past him, my foot is in front of the ball and he hits my leg. Itās clear contact.
āItās not a penalty but itās 100% a foul for me, but like Iāve said, Iāve not watched it back.ā
