Manchester United are likely to face a huge financial black hole after losing the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Red Devils have been awful in the Premier League in 2024/25, and they will not be playing in any European competition next season for the first time in a decade.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is in charge of operations at United after buying 29 per cent of the club, previously warned the club that they are in danger of failing to comply with the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Now, the Red Devils have taken a brutal cost-cutting approach by sacking some of their employees.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, some of the 200 employees are at risk of losing their jobs.
Just hours after the defeat against Spurs, the Red Devils told some of their employees that they are no longer needed.

Last year, around 250 people associated with Man Utd lost their jobs.
As a result of their defeat in Bilbao, they have missed out on the £100 million windfall of Champions League qualification.
The report claims that the morale is said to be low inside the club, with popular and longstanding colleagues set to depart.
United will see a drop in matchday receipts of about £20 million due to fewer matches next season.
