Update provided on Manchester United star after concerning post-match scenes

Manchester United right-back was stretchered off the Old Trafford turf after a collision with the advertising boards on Wednesday night.

As a youthful Man United side stumbled to a stalemate with Young Boys, Wan-Bissaka clashed with the advertising boards as he chased the ball towards the end of the fixture.

Unfortunately for the right-back, he was unable to stop himself from hitting the ground, hard, and subsequently left the pitch on a stretcher after spending some time down receiving treatment.

Man United fans will have been left fearing the worst by the amount of pain that Wan-Bissaka appeared to be in, but the initial suggestion is that the injuries he sustained are not as serious as first thought.

Speaking to the media in wake of the Red Devils’ final Champions League group fixture, Ralf Rangnick provided the latest update on Wan-Bissaka’s condition – and it sounded promising.

The 24-year-old may well require a scan before the extent of the damage done can be accurately determined, but if Rangnick feels there is a chance he could be available for Saturday, it’s good news.

Man United visit relegation-battling Norwich City at the weekend. If Wan-Bissaka doesn’t make it, Diogo Dalot is a more than capable deputy for the right-back position.
