Talks underway: Journalist claims Man United are in negotiations with world-class manager

Manchester United have reportedly initiated talks with Zinedine Zidane over the possibility of taking the manager’s role at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains under intense pressure following a string of disappointing performances. His dismissal is beginning to seem like a matter of when, rather than if.

Antonio Conte was mentioned as a potential replacement a few weeks back, but the former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach has since joined Tottenham Hotspur.

Brendan Rodgers has also been mentioned in the running, but it remains to be seen if he’d be willing to depart Leicester City in the middle of the season.

A third and conveniently available option would be Zinedine Zidane, and according to journalist Pedro Almeida, talks are now underway between the parties.

Almeida does suggest that Zidane is looking for a route into international management, potentially with France after Qatar 2022, but could he be convinced to take the Man United job?

We’ll have to wait and see.
