Manchester United identify number one choice to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Mauricio Pochettino has been earmarked by Manchester United as their number one target to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to Sky Sports.

Solskjaer was officially dismissed on Sunday morning following Man United’s 4-1 defeat to Watford. It left the Red Devils twelve points adrift of Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Michael Carrick will be taking charge of Man United for the games that lie ahead as the club work on securing a more permanent solution in the dugout.

According to information provided by Sky Sports, Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino is the club’s number one choice to take the job.

It remains to be seen whether Pochettino would be interested enough in the Man United job to leave the Parc des Princes, but either way, you imagine nothing will happen before the end of the season.

Pochettino is an obvious choice for Man United and definitely one that’d be worth waiting for. The club can ill afford to rush into appointing a manager – they have to get it right this time.
