Manchester United could re-sign this attacker to replace Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United are reportedly keen to re-sign a former attacker to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo left Man United as a free agent after burning that bridge in a tell-all interview with Piers Morgan, during which he criticised the club owners and the manager.

Despite the fact that CR7 was not heavily involved with the Red Devils in the first half of the season, Man United will still need to replace him in the January transfer window.

According to Fichajes, the club already have ideas about who they could target, and they could be set to try and re-sign another former attacker – because that worked out so well last time.

Football transfer rumours: Memphis Depay to leave Barça for Juventus? | Transfer window | The Guardian

Memphis Depay was young and raw during his initial stint at Old Trafford, that is no longer the case, with the Dutchman being far more complete and refined.

Barcelona need to trim down the wage bill, with Memphis reportedly being deemed among the expendable players. It could be a relatively straightforward deal for United to complete.

Memphis is out of contract in the summer so it would presumably take a relatively minimal sum to prise him away from the Nou Camp. It’s certainly one to keep an eye on.
