The full extent of the increase in Manchester United’s wage bill following the acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo has been reported by the Daily Mail.

Man United already had one of the largest wage bills in world football prior to the summer transfer window. As you can expect, there was a significant increase after the club purchased Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and of course, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Said increases have been outlined in the aforementioned report by the Daily Mail, as confirmed in the latest financial figures released by Man United themselves.

The report notes that there was a HUGE 23.1% increase in the club’s wage bill in the space of a single transfer window, with the Red Devils now paying their players a mammoth £354m-a-year.

Much of that increase can be attributed to Ronaldo, but both Sancho and Varane are also among the highest-paid players in their respective positions in the Premier League.

In case you needed any reminding of how disastrous it would be for Man United to miss out on Champions League qualification, there it is.

You wonder why the Glazers, who are notoriously concerned with Man United’s commercial interests, are not more alarmed by the direction the club is heading in under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
