Manchester United have launched their new home shirt for the 2022/23 campaign – and may well have dropped a hint about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future.
Ronaldo has been absent from Man United’s pre-season training and it remains to be seen if he will be joining his teammates and new manager Erik ten Hag for their upcoming tour.
Reports have suggested that Ronaldo is keen to force a move away from Man United before the end of the transfer window, with the Portuguese superstar wanting Champions League football.
Whether a plausible route out of Manchester will emerge remains to be seen. It’s worth considering that the Red Devils will be desperate to convince him to stick around for another 12 months.
Man United fans may well have been given a glimmer of hope that he will, too, with Ronaldo having been involved in the promotion of the club’s new home kit for the 2022/23 campaign.
With Ronaldo being the most marketable footballer on the planet, you could argue that Man United would include him irrespective of whether he will be at the club next season or not.
There’d be a fair few million disappointed fans if their ‘Ronaldo 7’ shirts proved to be a wasted purchase, however. This could be a strong indication that he’s going nowhere this summer.
