Man City out of race for Kylian Mbappe due to star’s astronomical wage demands

Manchester City have reportedly ruled themselves out of signing Paris-Saint Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe due to the Frenchman’s eye-watering wage demands.

According to a recent report from The Athletic (paywall), via Daily Mail, the Citizens believe Mbappe’s salary demands would upset the squad’s harmonious’ environment.

It has been claimed that the World Cup winner is demanding a new contract which would see him earn a whopping £600,00-per week.

Since Mbappe joined Paris-Saint Germain from domestic rivals Monaco in 2017, the world-class forward has racked up a hugely impressive 115 goals in 156 appearances, in all competitions.

Largely regarded as the heir to the footballing throne, there is no doubting Mbappe’s on-field talent.

However, with his long-term future uncertain, you know a transfer is going to be huge when oil-rich Man City are ruled out signing a player because of the costs involved.

With his deal set to expire in less than 18-months time, irrespective of the potential costs, Mbappe continues to be linked with several top-flight clubs, including Real Madrid and Liverpool.
