Manchester City took the lead over Newcastle United at St. James’ Park via one of the worst pieces of defending you’ll see all season.
As Man City walked out onto the pitch to take on relegation-battling Newcastle, you got the impression that it was a bit of a mismatch.
While these two clubs actually now possess similar financial resources, one has had a decade to splash the cash, while Eddie Howe is lumbered with one of the worst squads in the division.
Newcastle, considering the gulf in quality, will have been focusing on ensuring there were no individual errors this afternoon that’d make life even harder for them.
Within the opening ten minutes of the contest, though, some calamitous defending allowed defender Ruben Dias a free header at the goal, which resulted in City taking the lead.
Even at Sunday League level, you’d be absolutely furious to concede a goal like this. It’s a shocker…
