MAJOR Manchester City injury blow could tip the balance in Premier League title race

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Manchester City will be missing Ruben Dias for up to six weeks.

Dias was a revelation for Man City last campaign, having arrived from Benfica for big money in the summertime. He has gone on to establish himself as one of the finest centre-backs in the country – and arguably the world.

While Man City do have immense squad depth in all areas of the field, Dias is one player whose absence is felt and the champions are considerably worse off when he is not fit and available to be involved.

Sadly for City, but could prove to be good news for Liverpool, is that Pep Guardiola has confirmed he will be without Dias for between four and six weeks, with the Portuguese international injured, as is reported by talkSPORT.

Guardiola will have to make do with Aymeric Laporte, John Stones and Nathan Ake for the foreseeable, which ought to be more than sufficient to keep City covered at the back while Dias recovers.

That said, he is potentially ruled out of next month’s tussle between City and Liverpool, which could determine who ultimately has their hands on the Premier League title at the season’s end…
