Reports were circulating on Twitter yesterday evening of Manchester City fans causing trouble at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Man City fanbase are not accustomed to losing, so back-to-back defeats in the space of nine days will have been difficult to stomach for all those who made the trip to North London on Sunday.
However, that is no excuse for failing to control your behaviour, as it seems several of the travelling Man City party did at the end of Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Tottenham.
Reports on Twitter suggested that Man City fans were clashing with stewards and even attempted to pull down an LGBTQ+ rainbow flag which was hung upon the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Situation has subsided now as fans filter out of the ground. Hard to know what triggered that as it happened on the opposite side of the ground to the press box but two City fans had earlier invaded the pitch. Two Spurs fans from a different part of the ground did the same.

The opening weekend of the Premier League season was pure box office, with Tottenham v Man City being the main event in terms of the calibre of the teams involved.
They teams didn’t let us down with the entertainment provided on the pitch, it’s just a shame that the City supporters have marred the afternoon with their off-the-field behaviour.
A penny for the thoughts of Harry Kane, who will have no doubt been hearing of the trouble caused by City fans in his backyard…
