‘I was hammered’ – Man arrested over Marcus Rashford abusive tweet provides pathetic excuses

Posted by

A man who was arrested over racist abuse sent to England star Marcus Rashford has given a pretty laughable excuse for it to The Sun.

As is mentioned in the report, Nick Scott, a 50-year-old England fan, initially denied ever sending a racist post to Rashford via social media.

The Sun have omitted it from their report, but the Mirror appear more intent on holding Scott accountable for the post that he is accused of sending.

“Marcus Rashford that MBE needs burning ya fake. Pack them bags and get to ya own country,” it read.

Racism is contemptible no matter the context, but allegedly sending it to a 23-year-old after the lowest moment in his career is all the more cowardly.

Still, Scott, during his interview with The Sun, has given excuses which make him sound even more like a cretin.

“I was hammered at the time and don’t remember doing it.”

“I’m a quarter black South African myself and I was married to a German.”

It’s just utter, cliche nonsense which is often spouted by those who know they’re in the wrong but are desperately searching for sympathy.

You’re not going to get any from us, though, nor is anyone else accused of sending messages of this type to Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Bukayo Saka or anyone else.
