Fans have all made the same joke about Luke Shaw’s post-match interview.
Shaw braved the media after his handball gave a dramatic late penalty to Brighton and told Sky Sports:
“I’m not looking for excuses for what I’ve done, but there’s no way I think that should have been given [as] a foul that led to the corner. . .but of course I can’t change that.”
“Like I said, hands up, silly mistake that cost us a point at the end.”

Fans quickly picked up on the ‘hands up’ part and took to social media.
One said, “At least he’s honest was definitely hand up.”
Another added, “Hands up” was the problem in the first place.”
A third commented, “Luke Shaw saying “hands up, silly mistake” – after costing us a point – with a handball.”
A fourth replied, ‘Should’ve kept them down lad.”
The Red Devils face West Ham next in the Premier League on Sunday.
