Luke Shaw has taken to social media tonight to thank supporters for their messages after he suffered a horror injury.
The Man United left-back was stretchered off after an 8-minute delay that followed Hector Moreno’s flying challenge during a Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven.
But just over half an hour after leaving the Philips Stadion field, Shaw was on Twitter thanking fans for their support, as well as stating that his road to recovery will begin immediately.
Thank you everyone for your messages , words can't describe how gutted I am , my road to recovery starts now, I will come back stronger.

He also saved a special word of thanks for his former club, Southampton, who were quick to send their best wishes.
@SouthamptonFC thank you , you don't know how much you as a club mean to me , thank you so much I really appreciate it

The exact nature of the injury remains unconfirmed, although it is feared that Shaw could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Shaw also received a message from Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who has previously suffered, and recovered from, a broken leg.
Fingers crossed for @LukeShaw23, get well soon
