Romelu Lukaku is heading to Chelsea in a move which will see him become the most expensive footballer ever.
When some brings up the topic of the world’s priciest players, you’re inclined to think of those who have commanded the priciest one-off transfer fees in football history.
Neymar, Paul Pogba and Gareth Bale are the three players most recently to have smashed the world transfer record, which currently stands at an eye-watering €200M.
While Lukaku’s impending transfer to Chelsea will not be eclipsing that figure, paid by PSG for Neymar back in 2017, his €115M move will make him the player with the highest tally of accumulated fees.

As is reported by The Sun, Lukaku’s total transfer tally is set to stand at €346M, surpassing Neymar’s total of around €291M, thus making the Belgian the world’s priciest player.
Lukaku has spent an average of 2.3 years at each of his clubs he’s played for since leaving Chelsea on a permanent transfer. Blues fans will be hoping he sticks around for longer than that this time…
