Romelu Lukaku set to join Chelsea training with potential debut vs. Arsenal on the horizon

Romelu Lukaku is expected to join Chelsea training tomorrow and will be involved against Arsenal at the weekend.

Lukaku to Chelsea was officially announced on Thursday with the former Inter Milan striker thought to be the missing piece of Thomas Tuchel’s puzzle in attack.

Chelsea created a huge number of opportunities in the second-half of the campaign under Tuchel but were without a striker capable of providing the finishing touch.

In Lukaku, they have that, and as per Sky Sports, the Belgian is expected to join Chelsea in training on Tuesday to prepare for his debut against Arsenal on Sunday.

Romelu Lukaku signed for Chelsea from Inter Milan

Arsenal fans reading this news will be reminded of the days that Chelsea legend Didier Drogba terrorised them at the Emirates. They’ll be hoping that Lukaku doesn’t follow in the footsteps of his idol in that regard.

From Chelsea’s perspective, having Lukaku available for selection going forward is going to be a game-changer, with his addition to the squad surely making them one of the favourites for the Premier League title.

Chelsea defeated Crystal Palace 3-0 in their Premier League opener, but it could’ve been a cricket score if they had a player occupying the kind of positions that Lukaku takes up in the penalty area.

Lukaku is going to absolutely fill his boots back at Chelsea working under Tuchel. Who’d bet against him getting off the mark in North London later this week?
