Former Spain manager, Luis Enrique, has revealed that he made a mistake with his squad for the Qatar World Cup, and should have left one unnamed player at home.
Spain endured a promising, yet ultimately disappointing, time in Qatar under Luis Enrique. Their 7-0 thrashing of Costa Rica demonstrated that the young squad had the potential to be a top team on the biggest of stages, however, back-to-back defeats against Japan and then Costa Rica saw the side crash out of the tournament in a lacklustre manner.
The dismal campaign cost Enrique his job, and the former Barcelona manager admitted that there were a couple of key mistakes he personally had made.
🗣 “I’ll be honest with you. It isn’t that he behaved badly, but I did not see what I expected.”

Talking to Twitch streamer Llanos, Enrique explained: “I’ll be honest with you. I would make one change. I’m not going to make it public, but I would take one out and bring another”
“My personal feeling is that there is one other player I would have liked to have taken, and another that, it isn’t that he behaved badly, but I did not see what I expected.”
Who do you think the mysterious unnamed player is?
