Loughmore-Castleiney were knocked out today by Waterford’s Ballygunnar on a scoreline of 2-11 to 0-12 the big talking point of the game though was the sending off of Noel McGrath. See for yourself below, but if this is a sending off, it’s an absolute joke and the game of hurling is in big, big trouble. It really ruined the game early on and made it very tough for Loughmore-Castleiney to keep pace with a quality side like Ballygunnar.

That is an outrageous decision by Johnny Murphy to send off Noel McGrath. Outrageous. McGrath had gotten a smack from Paddy Leavy off the ball before McGrath hit him back with a shoulder. Neither linesman or ref could have seen the shoulder but still give red. Ridiculous.

Standard of referees has to looked a big time from the Gaa. Outrageous decision from the ref to send off Noel McGrath. This is the very reason refs are needing escorts off the field because of these insane decisions
