Liverpool’s team hotel was reportedly subject to major disturbance overnight after fireworks were set off in the early hours of the morning.
The Reds face Wolverhampton Wanderers today, knowing that even a victory might not be enough to see them lift the Premier League title ahead of Manchester City.
City take on Aston Villa, led by former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, and are very much in the driving seat in the race for the Premier League crown.
Any anxiety that City fans were feeling may well be eased by the news that Liverpool’s sleep on the eve of today’s round of fixtures was disturbed.

As is reported by the Times, fireworks were set off at the Liverpool team hotel at around 1:45am last night, with Merseyside Police being called to the scene.
It’s unclear at this point exactly who the offenders were. It could have been Man City fans, Man United fans, Everton fans – or all of the above, joining arms.
Either way, you imagine that the Liverpool players will merely have just gone back to sleep and will use it as added motivation ahead of today’s big game.
