Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino suffered a ‘serious’ hamstring injury during the Reds’ victory over Atletico Madrid.
Liverpool hosted Atletico in the Champions League midweek. It was a thrilling encounter, but one that has left Roberto Firmino with lasting damage to his hamstring.
Firmino was withdrawn by Klopp in the second half of the tussle with the Spanish champions, with it now having been revealed that the Brazilian suffered a seemingly serious injury.
Klopp, speaking to the media ahead of the weekend round of Premier League fixtures, is quoted saying, “Bobby is not good news with a serious hamstring injury, really unfortunate.”

“We don’t know exactly how long he will be out but it will be not now after the international break directly. We have to work on that.”
Though Firmino is not a Fantasy Premier League favourite, his Liverpool teammate Diogo Jota is. The Portugal international is owned by 12.2% of managers, which puts him in the top 40 most selected players.
His £7.5m is an appealing one for a productive player who plays in a prolific team. Jota is likely to start all Liverpool games in Firmino’s absence, which will be good news for some FPL managers.
More significantly though, we wish Firmino well and hope to see him back in action as soon as possible.
