Liverpool set to sign €60m attacker this month, potential Mohamed Salah replacement

Liverpool’s January transfer window is reportedly set to explode into life with the big-money acquisition of Porto attacker Luis Diaz.

Diaz, 25, has netted 14 goals in 18 appearances in Portugal’s top tier this campaign. He looks to be the latest Colombian export to have used the Estádio do Dragão as a platform to propel himself onto the world stage, following in the footsteps of Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez.

According to information provided by The Athletic this morning, Diaz is set to secure himself a mid-season move to the Premier League, with Liverpool understood to be ‘on course’ to complete a €60m deal to sign the attacker before the end of the January transfer window.

It remains to be seen exactly what Jurgen Klopp intends to do with Diaz, considering he already has Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino at his disposal, but Liverpool can’t ever seem to have enough attacking talent.

However, unfortunately for Liverpool fans, it is the biggest indicator yet that Liverpool are not confident of agreeing terms with Salah over an extension to his contract. Considering he will have just one year left on his deal this summer, the club could be set to cash in…
