Why Liverpool have to win the league for Jurgen Klopp’s sake

Posted by

Last month Jurgen Klopp made the big announcement that the 56 year old German will be leaving Anfield after the best part of ten years with the club. In that time Jurgen Klopp has won several trophies and got to plenty of finals.

The two biggest achievements that stick out for Liverpool fans was winning the league for the first time in 30 years and winning the Champions League in 2019. Liverpool are currently still top of the Premier League table with four months go.

Liverpool’s rich history and legacy demand success. The club has a storied past, characterized by remarkable triumphs and a passionate fanbase that spans the globe. However, recent seasons have seen Liverpool tantalizingly close to league glory, only to fall short.

Roy Keane once told the Munster Rugby team back in 2008 when they went on to win their second European Cup. ‘Any team can win one, great great teams win two’. You have to feel if Jurgen Klopp doesn’t win a second Premier League with Liverpool, he will not go down as one of those great managers that the club has had, despite the success and the love he gets from the fans.

Manchester City have all the money in the world and the infrusture that Pep Guardiola has built around the club has been second to none. The club is a well run machine and it’s take a lot to beat Manchester City at this current moment in time.

Having said that, in a league as competitive as the Premier League, time is a scarce commodity. Rivals strengthen, dynamics shift, and challenges evolve. I fully believe that the position that Liverpool are in now and with every game from here till the end o the season being a cup final.

I think Liverpool owe to Jurgen Klopp to send the big German out on a high. The Premier League title that they won back in 2020, none of their fans were allowed to celebrate their success, how great would it be to finish off the Jurgen Klopp era in style, come the end of the season?

It’s going to be one hell of a battle and you will be able to find here tickets for any of the Liverpool matches. Liverpool’s time is now. The team must harness the collective will, talent, and determination to ascend to the summit of English football. Failing to do so risks not only a missed chance at glory but also the potential for a prolonged period of uncertainty and frustration.
