Manchester United and Liverpool are known for their bitter rivalry but sometimes the bitterness turns nasty and it’s an unfortunate history surrounding this fixture.
Both sides have been equally guilty but it’s a small minority that taint the reputation of each respective club and that minority have struck again tonight.
There were reports earlier about a banner being draped over a bridge above the M62 that made reference to the Munich air disaster. Thankfully, no pictures of the banner circulated social media. Police were quick to respond to calls and remove it at once. It’s gotten both sets of fans upset ahead of the match.
