A Liverpool fan, calling into talkSPORT, has sensationally claimed that Divock Origi would start ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United.
Origi, who has a knack for fading into obscurity before popping up with a memorable moment, scored a dramatic match-winner for Liverpool against Wolves last time out in the Premier League.
The Belgian followed that up with a goal against AC Milan in the Champions League, with his two-game hot streak clearly getting Liverpool fans a little overexcited.
One supporter, who called into talkSPORT, made the claim that Origi would walk into Man United’s starting XI at the expense of Cristiano Ronaldo, arguably the greatest goal-scorer EVER.
👀 “Origi can go to any #PL team and get in! I’d play him over Ronaldo at #MUFC.”
❌ “What’s Ronaldo done over the last 4 years? He didn’t win the #UCL at Juve!”

While Origi is a good striker and certainly deserves to be playing a more considerable role than he does at Liverpool, we think this caller might be getting a little carried away.
After all, Origi has 42 goals in 217 league appearances throughout his career. Ronaldo has 485 in 625, which is one of the finest records boasted by any player, in any era, ever.
That said, you wouldn’t expect a Liverpool fan to go on the radio and wax lyrical about a Man United player. He is quite clearly blinded by his bias…
