Everton football club got a huge boost today after Liverpool city council approved the construction of the clubs new modern stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
According to Business Live the Merseyside clubs new £505 million, 52,000-seater stadium plan has been approved by Liverpool councillors.
The plan to build at Bramley-Moore Dock has been in the pipeline years – approval at Tuesday morning’s planning committee meeting is one of the final hurdles to jump before work can begin.
The news couldn’t have come at a better time as Everton are fresh from their victory over city rivals in the Merseyside derby last Saturday.
Everton won the historic game 2-0 in what was their first win at Liverpool’s fortress, Anfield, in 22 years.
Everton’s victory was just more salt in the wounds of Jurgen Klopp and his men who are having a torrid time at the moment.
Scorers on the day were Richarlison who opened the scoring in just the 3rd minute and Gylfi Sigurðssonn who netted from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute.
