The news couldn’t have come at a better time as Everton are fresh from their victory over city rivals in the Merseyside derby last Saturday.

Everton won the historic game 2-0 in what was their first win at Liverpool’s fortress, Anfield, in 22 years.

Everton’s victory was just more salt in the wounds of Jurgen Klopp and his men who are having a torrid time at the moment.

Scorers on the day were Richarlison who opened the scoring in just the 3rd minute and Gylfi Sigurðssonn who netted from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute.
