Lionel Messi returned to Paris Saint-Germain training this Monday with his two-week suspension seemingly having been halved and subsequently ended as of today.
The Argentinian playmaker had been suspended following an unsanctioned trip to Saudi Arabia, where he is a tourism ambassador (obviously), which came just a day after PSG had suffered a 3-1 home loss to Lorient.
After a dramatic week in which PSG fans chanted against Messi outside the stadium, he apologised for his actions on social media and reports more or less confirmed the 35-year-old would be leaving Paris this summer, things are now back to “normal” ahead of the end of the Ligue 1 season.
PSG confirmed the return of their no. 30 on their social media channels as seen below.

The next weeks and months will be incredibly interesting as Messi weighs up possibly the final transfer of his legendary career. He has been linked with both an emotional return to Barcelona or a €300 million euros offer to play in the Saudi League for Al-Hilal, where he would resume his iconic rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo, although this time without any of the former prestige and only to service the reputation of the Saudi state.
Only time will tell what comes next for the World Cup winner and probable 2023 Ballon d’Or.
