Lingard was brought on for Cristiano Ronaldo in the 72nd minute of Man United’s clash with Young Boys at the Wankdorf Stadium on Tuesday night.
While the England international had a positive impact as a substitute against Newcastle United at the weekend, his impact in Man United’s Champions League opener was a disastrous one.
Lingard played a lazy pass back to goalkeeper David De Gea in the 95th minute of last night’s game, with Theoson Siebatcheu being quickest to react and finding the back of the net.
