News coming out of the GAA scene over the past 48 hours is one that Limerick manager John Kiely won’t want to hear, allegedly a Limerick player head butted a Tipperary player in a pub on Sunday night. Limerick play Clare next in Ennis and luckily for them the game isn’t of huge importance from a Limerick point of view.
So it will give Kiely time to deal with the player in question…
Late on Tuesday night Limerick GAA released a statement on behalf of team management.
“On Sunday last a member of the Limerick senior hurling squad was involved in a breach of our team protocols,” outlined the statement.
“The matter has been dealt with by management internally and no further comment will be made on the matter at this time,” concluded the brief statement.

Well it was Cody and shefflin last week. It’s limerick this week. Well these writers would just say anything now to bring down a good hurling team. Ok I should not have happened but more than likely there is jeoulisey on the Tipperary side.
They probably won’t reprimand him, as its been “dealt with internally” and he’s being “censured”. Meaning, they will give out to him internally, but he will still be allowed play in any important games for Limerick. Rightfully he would be put off the panel for a while at least. Or suspended by the GAA, but he probably won’t be. I’d say he is getting off very lightly. I am sure there is jealousy and underhanded stuff going on all the time from many counties. But these kind of incidents shouldn’t be tolerated.
You’re all 3 monkeys there Michael….No worries You’re all right Jack
