What a win that was for the treaty man last week, having come from nine points behind at one stage in their opening match against Clare. There is a video doing the rounds on social media though of one of the Limerick player placing his foot on one of the Clare players back ..
Have a look what you think of it below and the comments underneath ..
Calls in Munster for Aaron Gillane to face a 3 month ban for stamping on the Kidney area of a Clare Players Back in a deliberate attempt to mame the player and potentially cause significant injury.
How on earth has this criminal assault been overlooked by the GAA ???… pic.twitter.com/euV8YopJVs

Can u prove it was Gillane? All I see is a leg… And I also remember the Clare player in question assaulting a Limk player in Thurlas with a hurley….. But when it’s Clare it’s just tough play. Donal og was right ye blame everyone else for your failures
Cathal Heneghan got dragged before a disciplinary panel for a lot less than this
Stamping in a fella on the ground like that, you could break a leg.. or someone’s .. oh, wait..
It can take surprisingly little force to the lower back to cause irreversible kidney damage. That looks awful.
He should be sent off in most of the Games for has played in..
We can’t have that in any game. Not good enough doesn’t matter who it is or what team it is. Not good enough.
Couldn’t it be,they are too good of a team and the powers that be don’t like it up limerick
5 in a row here we come
In isolation, what Gillane did is not good but he was harassed by Clare players from the get go. He was illegally held, pulled, dragged all through the game ,all while the umpires looked on and did nothing.
He took a lot of abuse and hence his reaction.
Regardless of that, cynicism did not win out on the day as it was a great game of hurling from both sides.
